Austin, TX Trip

Friday, May 11, 2018

I recently went on vacation to Austin, TX. You may be thinking, why Texas? Do you have family there? That is literally what everyone asked me, haha. The answer is, we just wanted to go! My boyfriend visited Austin last year for a bachelor party and he said it was a great city. Lets face it, living in New England all winter can be a little depressing, so I didn't care where I went- as long as it was warm.

We stayed there for 5 days and packed a lot into the trip! Before we left I did a lot of research on the city- where to eat, best places for happy hour, shopping, etc. Luckily I got a lot of info from some lovely Austin bloggers. The Darling Detail had great recommendations! I highly recommend researching a new city before you go, it helps plan out your trip a little better.

Below I wanted to include every place we hit up and why it was so great! If you end up visiting Austin, I hope this post is a good tool for you!

Lunch-Hopdoddy: Best place for burgers & fries! The truffle fries were AMAZING!
Coffee-Manana: Possibly the best cold brew I've ever had!
Drinks- Parlor Room, Unbarlieviable (legit out of a movie, such a cool bar!), Container bar. These are all located on 6th Street in downtown Austin.

Breakfast-Hillside Farmacy: Amazing brunch, so good we went there twice on our trip! Good to go during the week when it's not packed.
State Capitol/downtown/University of Texas
Outdoor voices: Great activewear store.
Whole Foods: Headquarter's in Austin!
Happy Hour - Irene’s: If you like frose, then you need to stop here!
Torchys tacos: Spicy, but good! I liked the shrimp tacos the best.
Shopping: Impeccable pig: I've never been and only heard of the boutique, so I had to stop by. They have the cutest clothes for any occasion.
